Marche boutique organic wine farm and olive oil producer

This boutique organic wine farm is situated in the Marche hills, between the Sibillini Mountains and the sea. The farm’s production focuses on white and red wines (about 18,000 bottles at the moment, with a capacity for 20,000 in full production) and extra-virgin olive oil (around 400 kg, continually expanding), and everything is totally organically run. Aside from the winery/olive mill, the property also has a farmhouse (115 sqm, 3 bedrooms) which is lived in by the owners.
All services are available in the nearby village (3km; 5′), and several of the most well-known centres in Marche, Umbria, and Emilia-Romagna can be accessed in under two hours by car (Fermo, Civitanova Marche, San Benedetto del Tronto, Antona, Assisi, Perugia, Urbino, Rimini, Riccione…).

A few steps from the farmhouse is the structure that contains the winery and oil mill (150 sqm – 1,614 sqft, 1 bathroom). The structure is divided into two staggered storeys that are accessible from the outside via two loggias (105 sqm – 1,130 sqft in total). The winemaking basement, which includes a shop/tasting area, guest restroom, and refrigerating room, is located on the second story. The tasting room leads to a modest terrace (12 sqm – 129 sqft) with views of the property’s vineyards. The private oil mill and a chamber for storing finished products are located on the lower floor, across a spacious loggia. The agricultural building is powered by a 280V power line with a 15 kW output.

The farmhouse has a surface area of 115 sqm – 1,237 sqft with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathroomsand  is the result of the reconstruction of an old country house and is divided into two levels: on the lower level is the farmhouse’s living area, which includes a large living room with fireplace, kitchen with exit to the loggia, and a bathroom; going upstairs via the internal staircase, one reaches the house’s sleeping area, which includes three bedrooms and a bathroom. The property is in fantastic condition, with sunny rooms and simple yet pleasing decorations that make it quite cosy. A normal 220V electricity line with a power output of 3,5 kW powers the residence.

The farm has a total area of approximately 7.0 hectares (17.3 acres) and is located on the hills of the Marche region. The farm’s agricultural produce includes a vineyard (2.5 ha) and an olive grove (1.5 ha), with the remainder of the land dedicated to meadows (2.2 ha) and mixed forest (0.8 ha).
The farm is totally managed using certified organic methods, and in addition to traditional agricultural output (oil and wine), the company is also involved in the creation of cosmetics using only organic zero-food-miles raw materials (production and certification is currently carried out by a third party). This activity now accounts for around 10% of the company’s revenue, but with ad hoc marketing investments, considerably more may be accomplished.

The company was started from scratch in 2012 and sold its first bottles of wine in 2017 (first production of about 5,700 bottles). In 2021 production reached 18,000 bottles, and by 2024 the entire vineyard is expected to enter full production with a projection of about 20,000 bottles per year). The Guyot training method was chosen so as to make the most out of the breeze that blows from the Sibillini Mountains toward the sea.

For the olive grove, some of the trees (56) date back many years (between 30 and 100 years), while the most recent planting (made by the current owners, 270 trees) is from 2014 and is coming into production in 2022, with full development expected in about ten years. Yearly production ranges around 1,500 kg of olives for the old trees (300 kg of oil) and approximately 700 kg for the new trees (100 kg of oil).

The olive trees planted in 2014 began producing olives between 2022 and 2023, and we foresee a gradual increase in production in subsequent years (maximum productivity should be reached in about ten years).
In terms of marketing, investment could be made in advertising the firm, particularly in cosmetics, in order to boost the company’s income.
