San Gimignano Hotel

This 24-bed boutique hotel is in a fantastic tourist position, a little over a kilometre from San Gimignano historical town centre with its unique and well-known medieval towers.
The buildings have a surface area of about 1,000 sqm and have been thoroughly renovated, keeping their traditional principal features, and hold some wonderful common areas on the ground floor, including breakfast rooms (restaurant), sitting rooms, a bar, and a large veranda for dinners and parties.
The 40,000-square-metre park gardens include a pool that offers a stunning perspective of the San Gimignano towers and the timeless surrounding vineyard landscape.

All services are within 1.5 kilometres, and touristic “hotspots” such as Gambassi Terme, Barberino Val d’Elsa, Volterra, Monteriggioni, Siena, and Florence can be accessed in around an hour at most by car making the hotel an ideal base for tourists.

The hotel has a total surface area of 935 sqm – 10,061 sqft, with 21 guestrooms and 24 bathrooms spread across four stories.
The reception area, various guest lounges, the professional kitchen with pantry and employee bathroom, two big breakfast (or restaurant) rooms, a large veranda (85 sqm), the guest restrooms, a private office (with independent access from outside), and a bar are all located on the ground level.
The first two bedrooms with private bathrooms are located in a separate section on the ground floor with an independent entrance.
A stairway descends to the basement, leading to the medieval basements, which consist of a succession of brickwork chambers with distinctive vaulted ceilings.

We reach the hotel’s main accommodation rooms on the second story by stairs and/or elevator, with thirteen guestrooms, all with private bathrooms.
Finally, as we ascend, we find eleven additional bedrooms with individual bathrooms, as well as the expansive rooftop sunbathing patio (90 sqm).

The structure goes back to the 12th century, at which time when it was only a watchtower.
The building, which had been transformed into an attractive country mansion throughout the years, was completely rebuilt in 2003 when the hotel opened.
Wherever feasible, attempts were taken to preserve the old building’s history and beauty, such as the distinctive wooden beams and the lovely medieval basements.
The terracotta floors have been restored to their original appearance, while the walls have been painted in soft hues in certain rooms and vibrant colours in others, assuring warm and friendly spaces.

A guesthouse renovated from an ancient barn adjacent to the hotel has a surface area of 125 sqm – 1,345 sqft, 3 bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms.
The structure consists of a large living room with a kitchen and three bedrooms (one of which can be accessed directly from outside) with separate bathrooms.
The guesthouse has its own private patio (terracotta tiled), which is ideal for relaxation and outdoor dining.

The 16 8 m swimming pool is located just below the building, in a highly panoramic and private location, and is encircled by a terracotta-paved sunbathing area.
