Magical castle property in Italy. Restored and features 11 bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, and a lovely 15th-century chapel. 6.6 hectares (16.3 acres) of land which include a keep and cascina needing renovation. Ideal as a prestige private home, boutique hotel, venue for weddings, conferences, events etc or company headquarters. Restored Castle – Piedmont ItalyThis magical castle property is perched atop Monte Crovero overlooking the Canavese in Piedmont, dominating the surrounding valleys with its towering form. The castle has been skillfully restored and transformed retaining and complementing its original features. The castle has a surface area of 2,030 sqm – 21,843 sqft with 9 bedrooms, 11 baths and is built on several floors that follow the irregularity of the rock and circle a central paved courtyard (400 sqm – 4,304 sqft). The lowest floor is made up of the mediaeval dungeons, which have been turned into cellars and storage rooms and have exquisite wooden ceilings: from these underground rooms, one can see the rocks to which the castle is tied. On the first level (piano nobile), there is a large reception room with a fireplace, another living room with a fireplace, three bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms (one of which is in the quadrangular tower), and two large libraries with a connecting reading room. The tower includes an additional level on top that holds a lovely bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a wonderful outlook of the surrounding area. The mediaeval chapel (90 sqm – 968 sqft) is located in a corner of the main courtyard, directly near the portcullis, and has frescoes from the 15th century as well as a bell tower. The caretaker’s apartment (75 sqm – 807 sqft) is located in another corner of the castle and is accessible by a side courtyard. It is divided into two stories and consists of a living room with kitchen and bathroom on the lower floor and two bedrooms with bathrooms on the top floor. A subsidiary keep (220 sqm – 2,367 sqft) is located near the main castle and consists of various chambers that are today utilised as storage and depots. A historic cascina (110 sqm – 1,184 sqft). in a defiladed position beneath the castle, needs renovating and is spread across two levels and is now used as storage rooms. The castle has a fascinating history, situated on the summit of Monte Crovero, where there was already some form of habitation during the Roman period. The building was inherited by the Savoy family in 1344, who used its advantageous location to extend their authority over the area. The site was granted in use to the De Jordano family at the beginning of the 15th century, who continued to enhance the castle by creating the chapel we see today. The castle was then handed down through numerous local families until it was inherited by Count Severing Casana, who was the first to renovate the structure. After being abandoned for many years, the castle was mostly wrecked when the new owners took on fresh restorations in the 1960s: over twenty years, they managed to restore the bulk of the castle to a functional and attractive form. One can also leave the quadrangular tower onto the wall walk that circles the entire castle. The castle is built around a lovely 400-square-metre paved courtyard that would be ideal for events, conferences, weddings, and reenactment. There are 6.6 hectares of land surrounding the castle that is covered in meadows, arable fields, and woods. The access road climbing up the mountain, starting from a handy parking space right below the castle, is a particularly distinctive aspect of the property as the path climbs the slope and enters the courtyard through the main portcullis of the castle. This lovely antique property offers lots of possibilities both residential and /or commercial.
